Common questions

What grade do I actually need for OET Speaking?

For UK NMC registration, Speaking, Listening and Reading each require at least Grade B (350), while Writing requires at least C+ (300). Requirements differ by regulator and profession, so confirm the current threshold with the body you're applying to.

How many sessions should I book?

That depends on your test date and what comes up in your first role play. See the Pricing page for the available packages.

Do you coach professions other than nursing and medicine?

My current focus is doctors and nurses. If you work in another OET profession, get in touch and tell me what you need.

Testimonials

“If you're struggling with OET Speaking, don't hesitate. Alexandra will give you the tools and the confidence you need to succeed. Before working with Alexandra, I was really stressed about the OET Speaking test. I lacked confidence and had no clear strategy for the exam. She adapted to my schedule and needs, gave me EXTRA resources to keep practicing, and provided feedback that was always specific and encouraging!!! There was a moment when her advice on structuring my responses just clicked, and everything changed from there. My confidence improved massively, and I felt calm and prepared on exam day! 100% recommended :)”

“I highly recommend Alexandra for anyone who needs to improve their English skills. I first met her on Preply when I was preparing for the OET exam as a Korean family physician hoping to join the PRA-BC program in Canada. At that stage, I needed to achieve all B’s on the OET to qualify, but I was struggling especially with the Speaking section and felt very discouraged. Alexandra gave me encouragement and support at exactly the moment I needed it most, and her kindness helped me regain my confidence.

With her guidance, I was able to improve steadily, and on my second attempt at the OET I finally achieved all B’s. That success allowed me to move forward with the PRA-BC process, and I am now matched to a wonderful clinic in Powell River, BC. As a family physician, I will soon begin my long-awaited practice in Canada next year.

Beyond her professionalism, Alexandra’s character and reliability stand out. She is sincere, never late for lessons (a rare quality among online tutors), and always well-prepared. She constantly thinks about what her students really need and puts in the effort to help them achieve their goals.

Alexandra is more than just an English tutor—she is a talented teacher who inspires her students with positivity and dedication. I am deeply grateful for her role in my journey, and I believe anyone who studies with her will experience the same life-changing impact.”
